BRANDY (rescue Samoyed)

I give Brandy, full credit for my wonderful introduction to Samoyeds. She came into my life and taught me how easy it is to love and be loved by the breed. Brandy is one special girl and demonstrates daily the sweet and gentle nature of the Samoyed temperament.

Brandy came to live with me and we bonded immediately. Together we were involved in obedience classes and agility, but Brandy's favorite activity and where she really excelled was working as a Pet Therapy dog. She was wonderful with both seniors and children and her enthusiasm for life was contagious. Brandy could make anyone happy simply by looking at them, wagging her tail and showing them her lovely "Samoyed smile".

When we started obedience classes she was the girl who dragged me around, pulling my arm off :) However, In 2002, Brandy and I won the "Barb Charters Memorial" award for having the highest score in Level 3 obedience class. What a wonderful team we made!!

Next we moved to taking agility classes and although she was not afraid of any of the agility equipment, she definitely had her favorites. It was quite the challenge keeping her attention on the right piece. I could almost hear her saying "No Mom, not THAT piece, THIS piece" ... and off she would go. She taught me patience and the joy of accomplishing one's goals, one step at a time.

Now in her senior years, Brandy has retired from the high energy activities and enjoys "hanging out" getting lots of love and attention and going for regular walks with her new owners.
